The Evaporative Light scattering Detector ZAM 3000 is an universal detector for non-volatile compounds in use with HPLC. ELSD delivers you high sensibility and short time to stabilize baseline by the way of the mobile phase to be vaporized and the property of particle to cause light scattering.

In comparison to other ELSD detectors, the ZAM 3000 consists of a rotation chamber with a nebulizer and a drying section made of glass. The chamber can be easily removed from the instrument and cleaned.

*Description of operation*

The solvent containing the components is nebulized into aerosols and sprayed into the rotation chamber at a given angle. By this, there is a selection between smaller and larger aerosols, at which the larger aerosols are flowing along the wall to a waste outlet and the smaller ones are picked up by additional gas (which can be heated) and forced withina rotary movement where the aerosols are dried. The amount of additional gas, which is set by aflow controller,determines the drying time of the aerosols.
